Zattura Size Guide

Zattura splits two ways, and both are simple once you know them. The clothing is cut slim, so size up one. The chukka boot runs long, so size down one. This guide gives the full conversion for the clothing, the footwear and the caps, and says something no other brand page here can: the size run goes up to an EU 60, a UK 5XL, well past where most of the range stops.

Does Zattura Run Big or Small?

The clothing runs small. Size up one. If you are normally a Large, order the XL. Every Zattura t-shirt and polo carries the Slim Fit indicator.

The cloth has a lot to do with it. The pieces are cut in mercerised and Supima cotton, which sit closer and smoother against the body than a standard jersey, and the high collar styles are drafted close at the neck by design.

The footwear goes the other way. Size down. The suede chukka boot is made in Italy on a Vibram sole and comes up long, as Italian-made footwear generally does. If you are a UK 9 in trainers, take the UK 8 / EU 42.

So the two categories pull against each other. Up on the clothing, down on the boot. Read the fit line on the product page and it will tell you which one you are looking at.

The Union 22 Fit System

Every product page at Union 22 carries one of three fit indicators. It is an instruction about sizing, not a description of the style:

SLIM FIT - SIZE UP ONE
The garment cuts close through the chest and shoulders. If you are normally a Large, order the XL. This is the label on the Zattura clothing: the t-shirts and the polos. When in doubt on a Slim Fit piece, go up.
BIG FIT - SIZE DOWN ONE
The piece comes up large, so take the size below. This is where the suede chukka boot sits. Take the size below your usual trainer size.
REGULAR FIT - TAKE YOUR NORMAL SIZE
True to size, no adjustment. Nothing in the current Zattura range carries this indicator.

Zattura Size Conversion: T-shirts & Polos

Zattura sizes on the Italian scale, where the number is roughly your half chest in centimetres. Every piece is listed with both, for example EU 50 / L UK. Find your usual size in the table, then take the next size up, since the clothing is cut slim.

Zattura / EUUKChest (inches)
EU 48M38-40"
EU 50L40-42"
EU 52XL42-44"
EU 54XXL44-46"
EU 563XL46-48"
EU 584XL48-50"
EU 605XL50-52"

Measure your chest under the arms across the fullest part, tape level and not pulled tight, then order the size above the one you land on.

The Size Run Goes to 5XL

This is worth saying plainly because almost nothing else on the site does it. Zattura is cut through to an EU 60, a UK 5XL. Most of the brands we carry stop at a 3XL and several stop before that.

It matters more than it sounds. A 4XL or 5XL customer shopping luxury menswear is usually choosing between a handful of pieces across an entire shop, and being told to size up on a slim-cut brand is not much use if the size above does not exist. On Zattura it does.

Not every colourway is cut across the full run and the larger sizes sell through, so the size selector on each product shows exactly what we hold in that piece. If the size you want is not showing, message us rather than assuming it is gone for good.

Zattura Footwear: The Suede Chukka Boot

Size down one. The chukka is made in Italy on a Vibram sole and runs long, which is standard for Italian-made footwear. If you are a trainer size UK 9, take the UK 8 / EU 42.

EUUK
EU 40UK 6
EU 41UK 7
EU 42UK 8
EU 43UK 9

Find your usual trainer size in the UK column, then take the next size down. Whole sizes only, so there is no half size to fall back on - if you are genuinely between, message us before ordering rather than after.

This is currently the only footwear style in the range, so the instruction is specific to it rather than a rule about Zattura footwear generally.

Zattura Caps

The caps come in Small/Medium and L/XL, with an elasticated closure rather than an adjustable strap, so the two sizes cover the range between them.

Take the one that matches how you size in hats generally. If you usually find adjustable caps sit near the end of their strap, take the L/XL. The elastic gives a little either way, which is why there are two sizes rather than six.

All of them are made in Italy, in linen, technical fabric or a cashmere and wool blend depending on the style.

What To Do If You Are Between Zattura Sizes

On the clothing, go up. That is the Slim Fit instruction and it holds: these are close-cut pieces in smooth cotton with little ease, and the larger size is almost always the right call.

On the chukka boot, go down. It runs long and there are no half sizes, so a boot that is too big will slip at the heel with nothing to fix it.

On the caps, the elastic means either will physically fit most people. Take the one matching how you size in hats.
