Hogan Size Guide
There is one thing to know about Hogan sizing and it is worth putting at the top: Hogan comes up large, so drop a size. This guide gives the full EU to UK conversion, explains how the Hyperlight runners differ from the H719, and covers what to do if you are caught between two sizes. Does Hogan Run Big or Small?
Hogan runs big. Size down one. If you are a UK 9 in most shoes, order the UK 8. Every Hogan product at Union 22 carries the Big Fit indicator, and it applies right across the range.
This is the most common mistake made on the brand, and it is an expensive one to make by post. A shoe that is a full size too big cannot be laced out of it.
If you have bought Italian footwear before you will probably expect this already. If Hogan is your first pair, take the instruction seriously rather than splitting the difference.
The Union 22 Fit System
Every product page at Union 22 carries one of three fit indicators. It is an instruction about sizing, not a description of the style:
Hogan Size Conversion: EU to UK
Hogan is an Italian house and sizes on the EU scale. Every pair at Union 22 is listed with both, for example EU 42 / 8 UK, so there is nothing to convert yourself.
Remember to apply the size down after you convert, not before. Find your usual UK size, then take the next size down.

Hogan grades half sizes through the middle of the run, but the instruction is still a full size down. If you are a UK 9, take the UK 8 rather than hedging at the 8.5. The half sizes are there so the run covers everyone, not as a way of splitting the difference.

Hyperlight or H719: Does the Model Change the Size?
No. Size down one on both. What differs between them is the build, not the fit.
The block H sits on the side of both, in contrast suede or matching tone depending on the model. It is the quickest way to tell a Hogan across a room and the reason the brand is bought as much for the look as the comfort.
What To Do If You Are Between Hogan Sizes
Drop the full size. That is the answer on Hogan and it holds across the range. If your usual is a UK 9, order the UK 8.
The temptation is to hedge at a half size, and it is the wrong call here. A Hogan that is a size too large will slip at the heel however tightly you lace it, and the Big Fit indicator is on the page because the shoe genuinely runs a full size long.
