The Whitechapel Centre

From Monday 2 to Saturday 28 November, we are collecting coats for the Whitechapel Centre, Liverpool's leading homelessness charity.

Most of us own a coat we no longer reach for. This winter, bring it to Union House and we will make sure it reaches someone who needs it.

What we are collecting

  • Men's and women's coats and jackets
  • Hats, gloves and socks

Please make sure everything is

  • clean and wearable
  • free of holes and tears
  • fastening properly - working zips and buttons

Where and when

Union 22, Union House, 23 Victoria Street, Liverpool L1 6BD. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 6pm. Use the Whitechapel bin by the door, or hand it to any of the team.

Where it goes

We take everything to the Whitechapel Centre's donations warehouse through November, as it comes in, so it reaches people while it is cold. Whitechapel decide where every coat goes. We will post the final count when the drive closes.

About the Whitechapel Centre

For more than 50 years, the Whitechapel Centre has helped individuals and families in Liverpool who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or at risk of losing their home. Homelessness in the city rises through the cold winter months, and warm, good-quality coats, hats, gloves and socks are always needed.

"We truly appreciate the support from Union 22 this season. Campaigns like this truly make a huge difference to our services."
